The Cost Engineer is responsible for analyzing, assessing, and optimizing product and process costs throughout the entire product lifecycle. The role aims to ensure full cost transparency, support sourcing and engineering decisions, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Hauptaufgaben:
Creation and maintenance of cost calculations for all electronic components incorporated into the product
Conduct cost breakdowns and benchmarking analyses to evaluate quotations and supplier cost structures
Support Purchasing in price negotiations by providing robust cost models and fact-based negotiation arguments
Analyze make-or-buy decisions and perform profitability assessments (business cases)
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives (Value Engineering / Value Analysis)
Evaluate design changes with regard to cost impact (Design-to-Cost, Should-Cost)
Collaborate with internal interfaces to ensure cost transparency
Support budget planning, forecasting, and reporting of relevant KPIs
Contribute to supplier evaluations with respect to cost and productivity performance indicators
Anforderungen:
Relevant professional experience in cost engineering, costing, industrial engineering, purchasing, or controlling, preferably in an industrial environment
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, costing methodologies, and value analysis
Experience working with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ideally in an international setting
Advanced skills in MS Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving mindset
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
